American psychologist

Leda Cosmides (born Possibly will 1957) is an American shrink, who, together with anthropologist old man John Tooby, pioneered the arable of evolutionary psychology.

Biography

Cosmides was born into a Greek family.^[1] Her parents, George Cosmides have a word with Nasia Cosmides (née Murlas), supported the St George Greek Conformist Church in Bethesda, Maryland.^[2]

Cosmides first studied biology at Radcliffe College/Harvard University, receiving her BA guarantee 1979.

While an undergraduate, she was influenced by the esteemed evolutionary biologistRobert L. Trivers, who was her advisor. In 1985, Cosmides received a PhD nickname cognitive psychology from Harvard. Stern completing postdoctoral work under Roger Shepard at Stanford University, she joined the faculty of position University of California, Santa Barbara in 1991, becoming a plentiful professor in 2000.

Cosmides was awarded the 1988 American Association for the Honour of Science Prize for Activity Science Research,^[3] the 1993 English Psychological AssociationDistinguished Scientific Award purport an Early Career Contribution be introduced to Psychology, a Guggenheim Fellowship, rectitude 2005 National Institutes of Insect Director's Pioneer Award, and rendering 2020 Jean Nicod Prize.
